Webinars and Seminars on Minerals and Herbs for Ruminants

Alethea Kenney, certified in animal naturopathy through the American Council of Animal Naturopathy offers seminars in herbal and mineral management for ruminants, in particular sheep and goats. Recently Alethea began teaching webinars in this subject as well! We are excited to share what these upcoming webinars will be all about and how you can participate. She also offers consulting as well. Here’s the news from Alethea:

I have started working on a series of webinars as extensions of the classes I’ve been teaching on minerals for sheep and goats and herbs for health in livestock and people. I have already done one webinar on minerals for health that was well-received. The idea being that if you provide the correct minerals in the correct ratios, your animals will maintain health and recover from dis-ease without need for conventional medicines or vaccinations. Even parasites are a sign of ill health, not the cause of it, so should be a clue that your minerals are out of balance for your farm and situation.

Here is the downloadable PDF of a schedule of upcoming webinars: http://www.animalnaturopathy.org/BorealBalanceAd.pdf

I also now offer consultations for whole farm situations for sheep, goats and horses (and occasionally do consultations about hogs and cattle). Clients submit not only intakes but soil and forage analysis, serum analysis and (if they have it) liver trace mineral panel. The idea is that each farm has different soils and conditions that may require different minerals for health. While the farmer works to improve soils (many of which are depleted or toxic from conventional agricultural practices and poor pasture management) and adds back in minerals naturally, she can offer mineral licks to her animals that are in balance for her property and animal species.

Things like laminitis in horses, mastitis in ruminants, cough and “summer pneumonia” in small ruminants are all related directly to improper minerals and feeds, NOT infections or “just the way it is“. Herbs and homeopathics are recommended to help restore balance in the body and heal damage done to tissues while mineral imbalances are corrected. When minerals are out of balance, the farmer is throwing away money and productivity. Animals cannot produce (or reproduce) to the best of their potential when they lack correct minerals and are fed or given toxic chemicals and medications.
